Trading with Gang Members

If you trade with Gang Members, there are some pitfalls. In general it is important to make use of the [E]quip Squad option during raids or trading.

  • You can't buy weapons at the Police Station, you must buy them in the Crack House or other places if you are lucky enough that a gangster pops up. As the Crack House is the typical location, they are always conservative and might be provoked if you commit crimes.
  • If the liberal who [T]alks wears Police Body Armor or other clothes associated with the police, the gang member won't trade with you. It only matters if the liberal who is talking wears police gear, so you can let someone without it talk, and then choose someone with police gear with "select [B]uyer".
  • If you are naked (probably from removing police armor) they won't trade with you either.
  • If someone wields an assault rifle or [[MP5]], the gang member will "spot the squad's liberal weapons" and raise alarm. If that happens you can only fight or bluff them. This is the biggest pitfall, because if you buy an AK47, he will attack you for wielding the very assault rifle he sold you. This can be prevented, by choosing [E]quip squad after buying it, but still in the trading menu (where you have the options for buying weapons or clips) and let the buyer drop his AK-47 (or let him wield the weapon he came with), after that, it's placed in the inventory and when exiting out of buying weaponry the alarm will not go off. An MP5 can be safely wielded and bought if the wielder wears a Trenchcoat.
